Cajun Seafood Boil with Spicy Butter Sauce Recipe
This Cajun-inspired seafood boil is a bold and flavour-packed feast. Loaded with prawns, crab, and mussels, and topped off with corn, potatoes, and a spicy Cajun butter sauce, it's perfect for sharing. This dish brings a taste of Louisiana to your table with an Aussie twist.
Ingredients:
- 500 g prawns, peeled and deveined
- 500 g crab, cleaned
- 500 g mussels, scrubbed
- 4 small potatoes, halved
- 4 ears of corn, cut into pieces
- 2 lemons, halved
- 1 onion, quartered
- 4 garlic cloves, smashed
- 4 bay leaves
- 2 tbsp Cajun seasoning
- 200 g butter
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tbsp Cajun seasoning (for sauce)
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp chilli flakes
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 tbsp hot sauce
- Fresh parsley, for garnish
- Crusty bread, for serving
Instructions:

1 Prepare and boil the seafood
Bring a large pot of water to a boil with Cajun seasoning, garlic, bay leaves, lemon, and onion. Add the potatoes and corn, boiling for 10 minutes. Next, add the prawns, crab, and mussels, and cook until the seafood turns opaque and the mussels open.

2 Make the Cajun butter sauce
In a separate pan, melt butter over medium heat. Add garlic, Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, and chilli flakes. Cook for 2-3 minutes until fragrant. Stir in lemon juice and hot sauce, then simmer for 5 minutes.

Drain the seafood and vegetables. Pour the Cajun butter sauce over the seafood boil and toss everything together. Serve on a large platter, garnished with fresh parsley, and enjoy with crusty bread.
