Enjoy the delicate flavours of fresh snapper styled as sashimi, paired with a lively wasabi-soy dipping sauce accented by hints of ginger and lime. This dish marries coastal freshness with a spirited zest that awakens your palate in every bite.
Ingredients:
- 250 g Snapper fillet (skin removed)
- 30 mL Soy sauce
- 15 mL Rice vinegar
- 5 mL Wasabi paste
- 5 mL Sesame oil
- 5 mL Fresh ginger, grated
- 15 mL Lime juice
- 1 pc Spring onion, finely sliced
- 1 pc Cucumber, julienned
Instructions:
-
1 Prepare the Fish
- Begin by ensuring your snapper fillet is well chilled and free from any bones. Using a sharp knife, carefully slice the fish into thin, even pieces, maintaining an elegant presentation.
-
2 Mix the Dipping Sauce
- In a small bowl, blend the soy sauce, rice vinegar, wasabi paste, sesame oil, grated ginger, and lime juice. Stir thoroughly until the mixture is smooth and the wasabi is fully incorporated.
-
3 Plate the Dish
- Arrange the sashimi slices neatly on a serving dish. Garnish with julienned cucumber and finely sliced spring onion to add freshness and a pop of colour.
-
4 Final Touches and Serve
- Drizzle a little extra dipping sauce over the sashimi or serve the sauce in a side bowl. Serve immediately to preserve the fresh taste and texture of the fish.
