Spicy Grilled Mackerel with Korean Marinade Recipe

The tender, flaky fish is packed with the savoury flavours of gochujang, soy sauce, and garlic, making it a perfectly balanced meal. Ingredients:
- 4 mackerel fillets (approx. 500g)
- 2 tbsp gochujang (Korean chilli paste)
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp Korean chilli flakes (gochugaru)
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds, for garnish
- 2 spring onions, sliced, for garnish
Instructions:

1 Prepare the Marinade
In a bowl, mix gochujang, soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, sugar, and chilli flakes. Coat the mackerel fillets with the marinade and allow them to rest for 30 minutes in the fridge.

2 Grill the Mackerel
Preheat the grill to medium-high. Grill the marinated mackerel fillets for 4-5 minutes on each side, until the fish is cooked through and has a slightly charred exterior.

Place the grilled mackerel on a serving platter, garnished with sesame seeds and spring onions. Serve hot with steamed rice and a side of vegetables.
