  • 600g cod fillets, boneless and skinless
  • Salt and pepper, to season
  • 1 cup plain flour
  • ½ cup cornflour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • 1 cup cold beer (lager or pale ale recommended)
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • Lemon wedges, to serve
  • Tartar sauce, to serve
