Spicy Chilli Garlic Prawns with Lemon Butter Sauce Recipe
Inspired by bold restaurant flavours, this spicy chilli garlic prawns dish is an Australian take on a classic seafood delight. Tender prawns are sautéed in a rich blend of butter, garlic, and spices, then finished with a zesty lemon butter sauce. Perfect as an appetiser or served with crusty bread for a light meal.
Ingredients:
- 500g raw prawns, peeled and deveined, tails intact
- Sea salt and cracked black pepper, to season
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tsp red chilli flakes
- ½ tsp cayenne pepper
- 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- ¼ cup dry white wine
- Fresh parsley, chopped, to garnish
- Lemon slices, to garnish
Instructions:

1 Prepare the Prawns
Peel and devein the prawns, leaving the tails intact for presentation. Pat them dry and season with sea salt, cracked black pepper, and smoked paprika.

2 Cook the Prawns
In a large skillet over medium heat, melt half the butter and olive oil. Add garlic, red chilli flakes, and cayenne pepper, stirring for 1–2 minutes until fragrant. Add the seasoned prawns and cook for 2–3 minutes per side or until they turn opaque and slightly golden.

3 Make the Lemon Butter Sauce
Add the remaining butter, lemon juice, and white wine to the skillet. Stir well, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly. Garnish with fresh parsley and lemon slices before serving.
